Yussi's Note

How Was Your First Week of the New Term

A new school term has begun. The girls shook off the short holiday and cheerfully returned to their everyday routines. As it turned out, I was the one who struggled more to get back into the routine of packing lunchboxes early every morning.
Still, we made it through the week. Pouring rain and gusty winds, and in between, the bright blue sky and dazzling spring sunshine that always break through to bless us.

Lunch Box

MON

Series of Riceball Lunch

Jin asked for something easy to eat, so in the end, I settled on rice balls for her lunchbox. I fill it with colourful cherry tomatoes, green apple slices, blueberries and pea snacks, with yoghurt on the side. The little one comes home with her lunchbox completely empty, without leaving a single bite. The snack corner in our pantry is running bare, so I’ll have to go grocery shopping this weekend.

Final_ReallyFinal_ActualFinal_FINAL.docx

I've finished polishing every chapter of my research report, and today is finally the deadline for the complete draft. I revised and brought together all the chapters I've been working on, adding the cover page, abstract, acknowledgements, references and appendices. Amazingly, the finished report came in at exactly the required word count, and I found myself marvelling once again at how amazing my supervisor is. Goodbye, my dear research. Please, can we just part ways already? (The final submission is next week!)

English with Jin

This Week's Expression

“I go to Magic school!”

Before I know it, English has become part of my little one's play. When she gathers her dolls in the downstairs playroom and chats away with them, or when she colours in a corner of the room, chattering about her day. "I'm a mermaid, and I go to magic school!" Sometimes she asks what a word means in Korean, and other times how to say something in English. Are the two languages growing within her, intertwining like vines? Or are they rising like two towers facing each other?
