Why parents choose StoryPress

4Words a Day

No overwhelm. No homework. Just 4 new words, a short game, and a story page — in about 10 minutes. Small enough to fit into any day.

Every Word Becomes a Story

Your child doesn't memorise a list. They meet words inside stories they help create — and that's what makes them remember.

A Book They Made Themselves

After 10 days, your child has a finished storybook with their name on the cover. Not a certificate. Not a score. A real book.

Made for Families Like Ours

We're an immigrant family in Auckland. We built StoryPress for children growing up between two languages — where English isn't just a subject, it's part of everyday life.

Three steps to a real storybook

How It Works

01

Meet & Play

Every day, your child meets 4 new English words — with pictures and sound. Then they play short games: spelling, matching, filling in sentences. It feels like play, because it is.

02

Create

Today's 4 words become today's story page. Your child colours the scene and hears the story read aloud. Every page is something they made — not something they watched.

03

Collect

A new page every day. A finished book every 10 days. With your child's name on the cover and their choices on every page. It's a real storybook — and they're the author.

“Other apps end at a lesson. StoryPress ends with a book.”

A Growing Library

A growing library of books they made themselves

Every day, your child creates a new story page. After 10 days, all the pages come together into a finished book — with their name right there on the cover. Then a new story begins.

Built on Research

Not a new method. Proven science, wrapped in creativity.

We didn't invent a new way to teach English. We took what decades of research already proved — and wrapped it in something a child would actually want to do: make their own storybook.

Words that stick

Every word in StoryPress is chosen from the same research-backed lists used in classrooms across New Zealand, Australia, the US, and the UK. Your child meets each word 14+ times — through stories, games, and their own creations — so it stays.

Stories, not drills

Children remember words far better when they meet them inside stories they care about. That's why every word in StoryPress lives inside a story your child helps create.

Made by them, not watched by them

Your child doesn't just listen or tap. They build a story, colour the scene, and see their work become a real page in a real book. That's active creation — and it's what makes the difference.

Our Story

Built by a mom.
For her daughter.

When Jin moved from Seoul to Auckland at age 4, English was a wall. We tried apps, tutors, YouTube, playgroups. Some helped. Most didn't stick.

StoryPress was born from that journey — the frustration, the breakthroughs, and the moment Jin said “I made a story!” for the first time.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

StoryPress is an English storybook app for children aged 3–8. Every day, your child meets 4 new words, plays short games, and uses those words to create a story page. After 10 days, all the pages come together into a finished book — with your child's name on the cover. Born from our own bilingual family journey in Auckland.

Children aged 3–8 who are growing up with two languages. It works especially well for ESOL families, immigrant families, and children who need a gentle way into English — through stories, not pressure.

Each day takes about 10 minutes. Your child meets 4 new words with pictures and sound → plays short games (spelling, matching, sentences) → then creates a story page using those words. After 10 days, the pages become a finished book. Words come back naturally — each one appears 14+ times — so they stick without drilling.

Most apps end with a quiz. StoryPress ends with a book. Your child doesn't just practise words — they use them to create something real. And when they bring that book home to show you, that's when the real magic happens. It's also designed specifically for bilingual families — not adapted from a general English app.

Yes. Parents can track their child's progress and review today's words together. We designed it so learning becomes a shared family moment — not just screen time.

4 words a day × 10 days = 1 storybook. Every day your child meets new words, plays with them, and creates a story page. By Day 10, they've made a complete book — and met over 40 English words along the way.
